3 biggest fears

To me fear means being frightened or having anxiety over something for example Courtney’s afraid of the dark. So for me I have so many fears that I can’t name them all, so it’s really hard to spot out my biggest fears but I think the possibilities could be drowning, losing loved ones and my last biggest fear is heights. I think I am afraid of drowning because when I was younger I almost drowned which made me very afraid of deep water so when it came to swimming lessons I would always chicken out. And I am afraid of losing loved ones because I don’t know what I would do without them like I can’t even imagine losing one of my brothers, dad or mom. Also I would be worried about what happens after I lose someone do I just forget about them or what so that’s another reason for my fear. And I am afraid of heights because whenever I am somewhere high up I get the feeling that I am going to fall and die. Which is a very terrible feeling but I am mainly sketched out about heights because I am probably one of the clumsiest people you will meet.

Unsuspecting hero october

The unexpected hero I am writing about is from the film One Small Hero, this film is about a young boy named Joey Cooper. Joey Cooper is a young boy who wants more than anything to be a member of the "Wilderness Club." But every time he tried to pass the test he failed enabling him to join because he failed over and over again. But when Joey gets home after his latest attempt that he managed to fail, he finds his mother has bought him all new camping equipment for his trip he didn’t want to make his mother feel bad so he didn’t tell her that he wasn’t in the club and wasn’t going camping, so he takes all his gear and goes for the trip anyway. So Joey went on the bus anyway and he was hiding so that no one saw him. Then all of the sudden all the kids were kidnapped by a couple kidnappers then it was all up to Joey to save them. Of course you know what happened next Joey saved all of the kids which made him have friends and become more popular and it also allowed him to finally join the Wilderness club. Also he becomes a hero for saving them he was congratulated by his moms and many of the town’s people. I chose this because this simple kid gained the power and hope to save the bus full of kids.

its a fork its a spoon its a weapon

Six year old Zachary Christie was suspended and now faces 45 days in the district’s reform school. This is because he took a camping utensil that can serve as a knife, fork and spoon to school. He was so excited about recently joining the Cub Scouts that he wanted to use it at lunch. School officials concluded that he had violated their zero-tolerance policy on weapons. “It just seems unfair,” Zachary said, pausing as he practiced writing lower-case letters with his mother, who is home-schooling him while the family tries to overturn his punishment. But, based on the code of conduct for the Christina School District, where Zachary is a first grader, school officials had no choice. They had to suspend him because, “regardless of possessor’s intent,” knives are banned. Still some school administrators argue that it is difficult to distinguish innocent pranks and mistakes from more serious threats, and that the policies must be strict to protect students. Critics contend that zero-tolerance policies like those in the Christina district have led to sharp increases in suspensions and expulsions, often putting children on the streets or in other places where their behavior only worsens, and that the policies undermine the ability of school officials to use common sense in handling minor infractions. In Milwaukee, where school officials reported that 40 percent of ninth graders had been suspended at least once in the 2006-7 school year, the superintendent has encouraged teachers not to overreact to student misconduct. Educational experts say the decline is less a result of zero-tolerance policies than of other programs like peer mediation, student support groups and adult mentorships, as well as an overall decrease in all forms of crime. For Zachary, it is not school violence that has left him reluctant to return to classes. “I just think the other kids may tease me for being in trouble,” he said, pausing before adding, “but I think the rules are what is wrong, not me.” And In my opinion they shouldn’t have made such a big deal about a kid brining a fork, spoon and knife utensil to school to us at lunch. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/10/12/education/12discipline.html

3 favorite films and why you choose them?

My first film that I chose was Trick R Treat it is a very confusing story about the traditions and beliefs or Halloween. It has more than one story going on at the same time. The first story about a pumpkin kid who kills anyone who doesn’t celebrate the traditions of Halloween for example dressing up in costumes keeping the pumpkin lit until the end of the night and giving out candy. The next story is about a school principle who murders people. But on that night he chose the wrong target he stalked a girl who happened to be a wolverine which got him brutally killed. And then the next story is about a bus driver who got paid to kill a bus for of disturbed students, but on Halloween they took their revenge and killed him. This movie is long confusing but shows that is always good to believe in traditions. This is a good movie because It has a good point about traditions and beliefs.

The next film I chose is I am Legend this is about a researcher and general who find the cure to cancer a thousands of people get diagnosed with it but the cure went wrong people started getting infected with a unknown disease which turns humans into monsters that can’t go into the light and feed on human flesh. So he is basically the only person left alive in the city and he is trying to find the cure to this unknown disease. At the end he kills himself to save the lives of two people and he also realizes that his blood is the cure. I chose this because this could happen in real life one day because we are searching for the cure to cancer too.

Then the last film I chose was What a Girl Wants, the story is about a girl whose parents split up before she was born, so on her eighteenth birthday she sets off to find her father in England but he happens to be a rich Britain politician. Her life style is different and she has to act good in front of the press because she kept getting in trouble. But she soon realizes she doesn’t belong there and goes home but her father loves her so he goes to America to give her the father daughter dance she has been waiting for and wishing for her whole life. Then she goes to college and has her long lasting wish granted to have a father.

News article: Willard s. Boyle

http://news.aol.ca/article/canadian-born-scientist-wins-nobel-physics-prize/716695/
A scientist born in New Amherst, N.S, is sharing the noble prize in Physics for his work in developing the sensor that is widely used in digital cameras. Willard S. Boyle will share the award with George E. Smith and Charles Kao for their “ground breaking achievements” in physics, the Royal Swedish Academy announced. Boyle and Smith, 79, they invented the first charge-coupled device, which is a semiconductor circuit that transforms light into electric signals that produce a large number of image points, or pixels, in a short time, the technology is also commonly used in medical imaging. Digital photography has become an irreplaceable tool in many fields of research, the digital camera is important to research. And also these days everyone has a digital camera you can’t go wrong with it. The CCD has provided new possibilities to visualize the previously unseen. It has given us crystal clear images of distant places in our universe as well as the depths of the oceans. This is really good so researchers can explore the universe better that before. The device was also used in the Mars Rover on the moon to capture images Boyle is most proud of telescopic applications. He was also born in Amherst in 1924 so this article is about the invention on the sensor most commonly used in digital cameras.

Where do you think you'll find yourself in the future, Why?

In the future I could see myself in many different places because I love to travel and experience different places. So I guess I could write about a couple different places, My first choice is Sherwood park because it's not too big but its near Edmonton so I would have fun shopping and exploring the city. My job would probably be a job as like a baker or something like that but my opinion changes a lots so that could happen but who knows where I will be in like five to ten years or so. Plus I actually have no clue where I will end up because I haven't even really thought about my future career yet but I think I would prefer to stay in a smaller safer community not like the city. If I were to move to the city I would most likely become sort of paranoid. But would probably try to live in the city sometimes but who knows i might just travel around a lot. But it depends if I'm going to go to college or university I could even go to a cooking school or beauty school for all i know so im very un sure about my future who knows I could even move to like the states or something.

Getaway

If I had a drivers license I would be driving a silver Mercedes Benz, the steering wheel would have a green flame circling each and every side of the steering wheel. My glove department would have a golden lock along with a golden key and in it would be all of my important things like my registration and IDs maybe even money. But my car would be pimped out it would have a built in mini fridge with cold drinks and lots of fancy little snack , also sandwiches, yum . And it would have a loud sound system with lots of base and it would be a built in mp3 player so I can play all of my favorite music. And I would have my friends in the car like Courtney and Hannah we would probably go for a long road trip to where ever we please. I was thinking of going some going somewhere like Las Vegas we would rent a hotel, go shopping, and probably gamble if we were old enough. We would go to clubs and all that jazz, I would probaly keep travelling for a bit after Las Vegas and we would probably be in our twenties and sooner or later we would start running low on money and would have to get our parents or someone to send us gas money so we could make it home and they would make us pay back every last penny we borrowed from them.
